Spiritual Direction in Deeper Collaboration with the Holy Spirit and Your Inner Self

This course is suitable for those who have already have basic training in spiritual direction, or are experienced in accompanying faith groups.  You may be still-in-training or have had a few years experience.

This course will help you ascertain your natural gifts from God, help you develop them further, and help you develop and trust your intuition better.

It is NOT merely a skill based course.  It is EXPERIENTIAL.  That is, you learn by doing.

Most importantly, with each step, you are invited to do so with God as your fellow teacher and “lab partner”.  You are invited to enter into deeper partnership and collaboration with God the Trinity, especially with Jesus and the Holy Spirit.

After all much of inspiration and intuition comes from Spirit, not just ourselves.

And since many of us are in lockdown in different parts of the world right now, let us gather online via Zoom. 

Upon confirming your registration, you will be sent a Zoom link for each session.

This course is available in English and Cantonese.

If you prefer, you may also form your own group and class.  For this, you will need minimum 3 participants.  Each class will hold maximum 9 participants.

Once you’ve gather enough people.  Email me to arrange dates and times that suits your group.  For this “private classes”, teaching is available in Cantonese, English and Mandarin.

Week 1: Intuitive Listening

In these challenging times, how do we walk with others not just through spiritual direction, but with our loved ones – our family and friends.

How do we BE with them, and listen to their pain or difficulties with compassion and love.

In this session, I will be sharing about the concept of “Contemplative Social Justice”, and that spiritual direction can become a powerful tool in social justice.

Week 2: Art and Music

This week, we will experience ourselves how can we bring basic tools similar to art therapy and music therapy into spiritual direction.

This is helpful for both beginners as well as experience art and music therapists, particularly in learning how we can let God do the work in SD and we relax more.

I shall say no further, come and be surprised!

Week 3: Dreams and Imagination

We may touch on dream analysis based on Jungian theories, but more importantly, we shall also draw from meaning of dreams from different cultures, including native and Asian wisdom.

As for imagination or visualization, I believe that both we and God are co-directors/producers of the visions or movie of both our imagination and our real lives.    

Yet somehow, many of us find it hard to truly believe in this.  So let us explore and experience this together.  May our own lives and the stories of our directees become powerful testimonies for our faith.

Week 4: Body and Healing

In the first part of this class, we shall try to get to know our own bodies a little deeper.  Part of this may be similar to other body related therapies such as dance movement therapy and somatic experiencing.  Yet again, we are reminded that our body is not just the temple of God but that God can also convey messages and inspiration to our minds and awareness through our bodies.

Additionally, we may explore how charismatic healing can be integrated with spiritual direction, after all, these are God’s gifts to us, so that we may believe in God more and enter into deeper relationship with God.

I have learned and developed these through my own personal collaboration with God.  All concepts and ideas mentioned above are my own.

God is the original founder of these ideas and concept.  If there are similarities to materials taught by other teachers, please know that I have not researched the works of other teachers for this course. 

Therefore I trust that all similarities are God-designed, and affirmation that God loves us all equally, and is keen to teach more of God’s people personally wherever we are.
